Three games into the start of their season, the defending champion New York Knicks have not won a game yet. It's quite surprising when you look at them basically bringing back the same roster from last season, but the thing is that the Eastern Conference has gotten better.

Their three losses have come against the Philadelphia 76ers, Boston Celtics and Orlando Magic, including a game where they had the lead for most of the game and blew it in the fourth quarter. Now, many are wondering if the Knicks even have what it takes to get back to the championship, but it looks like history is on their side, according to Mike Vorkunov of The Athletic.

“Just because the Knicks are 0-3 doesn't mean they can't repeat. There is actually precedent for a team starting 0-3 and then winning the NBA title. The 1990-91 Bulls lost their first 3 games of the season, still won 61 games and beat the Lakers in the NBA Finals. So it can be done, and they are literally the only ones to do that,” Vorkunov wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

There is one big difference between those two teams, and it's that the Knicks don't have a Michael Jordan. The good news is that they have Jalen Brunson, who has the ability to take over a game, and he's done so more times than not.

It's still early in the season, so the Knicks could run off on a winning streak at any time and none of this would matter. At the same time, it is something to take into account, especially after their offseason, when Karl-Anthony Towns and Josh Hart were trying to get extensions before the start of the season.

It'll be interesting to see if the Knicks can get a win soon, as their next game is against the Detroit Pistons.
