The Chiefs will again be without their left tackle to start the practice week.
Head coach Andy Reid told reporters in his press conference that Josh Simmons will not practice on Wednesday.
The left tackle is dealing with a bulging disc in his lower back, Reid said.
“The positive is he’s here and he’s getting better,” Reid said, via Nate Taylor of ESPN. “I think we’re heading in the right direction here.”
Reid added that the club did not put Simmons on injured reserve because of the unclear timeline.
Undrafted rookie Kahll Benson has played in Simmons’ stead at left tackle over the first three weeks and is in line to start again in Sunday’s game against the Raiders.
Every other player on Kansas City’s 53-man roster is slated to practice in some capacity on Wednesday.
