The LIV golf experience could be nearly over. There is an uncertain future for LIV, as layoffs have happened and Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund has pulled their funding.
With an uncertain future, golfers such as Jon Rahm, Bryson DeChambeau, and Cameron Smith are all working towards deciding their future with the tour. Now, Rahm has made a decision on his future, per Mark Schlabach of ESPN.
Rahm and LIV Golf have reached a separation agreement in which Rahm has agreed to release all of his monetary claims against the tour, in exchange for the return of his exclusive name, image, and likeness rights.
“Mr. Rahm has independently reviewed the proposed terms of LIV 2.0 and has determined that those terms are unacceptable to him, and he will not be participating going forward in LIV 2.0,” John Beck, Rahm's lawyer, said a week ago.
It is believed that Rahm still has over $100 million left on his contract with LIV, which will be forfeited. The Spaniard initially had a deal with more than $300 million when he signed with LIV in December 2023.
It is currently not clear when Rahm will be eligible to return to the PGA Tour. Previously, Brooks Koepka had returned under the Returning Member Program. Rahm, DeChambeau, and Smith were all eligible to return under the PGA Tour same program but chose to remain with LIV.

According to Schlabach, golfers will have until October 25 to decide on their future with LIV 2.0, but the new investors, BC Partners, can change that deadline.
