The Los Angeles Lakers, after overhauling their roster in free agency, are making a concerted effort to jell as a unit. Luka Doncic famously held a minicamp in his home country of Slovenia to help build team chemistry prior to the start of training camp. And more recently, head coach JJ Redick invited the team over to his house just so they could get to know each other better.

However, when Redick invited one of the Lakers' new signings this offseason in Quentin Grimes, some shenanigans ensued. Grimes was lost in Redick's neighborhood and didn't know which house belonged to his head coach. It got to a point where Grimes, as recalled by Redick, went into a neighbor's house and took a dip in their swimming pool — much to Redick's confusion.

“I provide him with the address of my guest house. It's a very, very specific address, as all addresses are. I tell him where the key is to get in. So I get back from golf that morning to go over to the gym with him, pick him up, and there's no one in my guest house. But he has told me he has arrived,” Redick recalled during media day, via LakersMuse on X.

“So I'm looking all over for him. Can't find him, can't find an extra car. I go on his Instagram and he's posted a picture from another house in my neighborhood of the pool with the hashtag Hamptons Life or something like that. So I tell [him], ‘Where the F are you, dude?' They had gone into one of my neighbor's homes and gone into their guest house.”

At the very least, Grimes has already made a lasting impression with the Lakers head coach, who will always have that story to laugh at the 26-year-old guard's expense.
