It's typical for the guests on the ManningCast to roast its hosts, particularly former NFL quarterback Peyton Manning, which is exactly what CBS' Jim Nantz did.

Appearing on the Oct. 12, 2026, broadcast during the overtime thriller between the Buffalo Bills and the Los Angeles Rams (via Awful Announcing), Nantz roasted Manning. He started by talking about the various endorsements and appearances they've done.

Jim Nantz: "Peyton, we have done all kinds of things people wouldn't realize… We've shot commercials. We've pimped for pizza. We have sold televisions. We've done basically everything but Rogaine for Men, even though we both could've used it, especially you." 🏈🎙️ pic.twitter.com/qHjoPZB49h

“Peyton, we have done all kinds of things people wouldn't realize. Countless speaking engagements, we've talked to bankers, we've talked to insurers, we've shot commercials, we've pimped for pizza, we have sold televisions. We've done basically everything but Rogaine for Men, even though we both could've used it, especially you,” he said, roasting Manning. “But yeah, we've had a lot of fun.”

He isn't completely wrong. Nantz and Manning have been seen in dozens of commercials over the years. Manning still frequently does ads for Nationwide Insurance.

Generally speaking, going after a man's hairline is a low blow. However, Nantz appears to have a good rapport with the Hall of Fame quarterback. After all, he spent decades calling his career from the booth. Now, they are both part of the media.

Nantz was the third and final guest on the ManningCast during the Week 5 game. First up was Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young, who was on his bye week, and second was Brenda Song, a Rams superfan.

Peyton and Eli Manning will now have a week off before the ManningCast returns in Week 7. They will be on the call during the divisional game between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Dallas Cowboys. The Manning brothers still have seven more games to call during the 2026 regular season. They will also air a special edition live from Inglewood, California, for Super Bowl 61. Expect even more special guests during that show at the Super Bowl.
