Jets first-round pick Omar Cooper is set to miss several games with an ankle injury.
Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that Cooper will be placed on injured reserve ahead of SundayâÂÂs game against the Packers. The wideout will miss at least four games while he recovers.
Cooper was injured early in last SundayâÂÂs win over the Titans. He took a short pass on a third down and took it for a 30-yard gain to set up the teamâÂÂs first touchdown of the season.
The Jets signed veteran Sterling Shepard to the practice squad earlier this week. He could join Garrett Wilson, Adonai Mitchell, Isaiah Williams, and Arian Smith as an option in the passing game while Cooper is out.
