It was not a game for the time capsule, but the New York Jets (2-3) may have turned their season in the right direction with their 17-12 victory over the Cleveland Browns (3-2) at MetLife Stadium.

The Jets made life miserable for Cleveland quarterback Deshaun Watson with the pressure they put on him throughout the game. Head coach Aaron Glenn's defense registered 8 sacks against Watson and battered him physically.

Nobody did more to help the Jets cause than rookie defensive end David Bailey. He had 3.0 sacks, 8 tackles, including 6 of the solo variety, 4 tackles for loss, 4 QB hits and 1 forced fumble. Bailey became the second Jets rookie in team history to record 3 sacks in a game. He joined Hugh Douglas who accomplished the feat in 1995.

In addition to Bailey's huge day, Jets safety Dane Belton had 8 tackles, 1.0 sack, 1 tackle for loss and 1 QB hit.

The Jets were able to get the victory on a rainy and slippery day when the Browns failed to get a punt away late in the fourth quarter. Long snapper Rex Sunahara snapped the ball over punter Corey Bojorquez's head. The snap was catchable, but it slipped through the punter's hands. Trevin Wallace was able to outfight the Browns for the ball and he recovered it for the Jets.

Three plays later, running back Braelon Allen drove through a hole on the left side of the line and ran 22 yards into the end zone. That gave the Jets a 17-12 lead and they were able to hold on and secure the victory.

Allen finished the game with 24 carries for 116 yards as he averaged 4.8 yards per carry. QB Geno Smith completed 17 of 30 passes for 182 yards with 1 TD pass to Garrett Wilson.
