Extra perseverance should be a requirement for any member of the modern-day New York Jets, but Breece Hall has faced other challenges besides frequent losing at the NFL level. The 25-year-old running back suffered a torn ACL and meniscus injury about midway through an impressive 2022 rookie campaign and is currently working his way back from a quadriceps issue that has already cost him four games this season. When facing such adversity, perspective is important.
Hall has accomplished a great deal in his football career already, becoming a two-time All-American and Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year at Iowa State and accumulating 1,300-plus scrimmage yards with the Jets in each of the previous three years. He does not need to be defined by team success or personal accolades, however.
The Wichita, Kansas native had plenty going against him, and yet, he is earning $29 million guaranteed with the Gang Green and enjoying life as one of the most well-rounded RBs in the league. While he nears his return, Hall is digging deep and offering words of encouragement to anyone who is enduring their challenges.
“To whoever needs to hear this: Through every high, every low, every setback, and every blessing, keep going and keep trusting in the Lord,” the 2022 second-round draft pick posted on X. “We may not always understand His timing or see the bigger picture, but His plan is always greater than ours. One day it’ll all make sense. Until then, keep your faith and trust His process.”

The 5-foot-11, 217-pound back is in a good frame of mind ahead of Sunday afternoon's game versus the visiting Las Vegas Raiders. Hall was a limited practice participant all week and is therefore considered questionable, but if he does play, the opposition will face off against a confident and trusting ball-carrier.
