Coach Ben Johnson's Chicago Bears made a huge move to acquire a massive man, defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons, that has him daydreaming about prime-time games. The Bears have become a trendy Super Bowl pick, led by QB Caleb Williams and his ‘Scottie Pippen' sidekick in the receiver room.
Following the trade, Stephen A. Smith of ESPN shared his take on what the Bears must do now that they've added Simmons to a defense that has a chance to get a lot better in a short timeframe.
“I've been bullish on the Chicago Bears because of Caleb Williams from last year, I believe in this brother, and I believe in what they're doing right now. Because this is where this all changes, a move like this, understand the magnitude of it, for Simmons, the Chicago Bears gave up two first-round picks, that's a lot in the NFL.
“But he's (Simmons) worth it, we all know what he brings to the table, they're also inheriting his lucrative contract, we have to take that into consideration as well. This message is the Chicago Bears sayin', we're going all in, we're trying to win it all right now.”
Smith noted that Williams is still on his rookie deal, which necessitated them pushing their chips to the center of the table to chase a Super Bowl. He believes the Bears should focus on home field advantage because of how difficult it is for other teams to play their best at Soldier Field in cold weather.

Bears GM Ryan Poles echoed Smith's notion, sharing his thoughts on Simmons and their Super Bowl aspirations. The Bears have a lot of hurdles to jump before qualifying for the big game, but for now, they are looking like a strong choice to make a deep playoff run.
