The Dallas Cowboys are trying to pick up some wins as the 2026 NFL season rolls along. Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is revealing what he would like to see from his team moving forward.
Jones wants his team to run more, he said in an interview with 105.3 the Fan in Dallas. It was also reported by The Athletic. Specifically, Jones wants his team to be a run-first squad.
“That lets us have the opportunity to get Dak under center a lot more. That presents a different defensive challenge for the opponent if he can get under center a lot,” Jones said.
This season, the Cowboys hold a 3-4 record. Dallas has been able to score this year, but the defense has struggled. The Cowboys have already allowed 180 points on the campaign.
Dallas is coming off a 38-21 win on Monday over the Philadelphia Eagles. The Cowboys rolled up 416 total yards of offense. Prescott finished his day with 212 yards passing, and three touchdown throws.
Dallas also got it going on the ground. That was a welcome sign, as the team is averaging just 94 rushing yards per contest this season.

The 26-year-old running back is a tough runner known for picking up what his blockers allow him but not much else. On Monday night, though, he had the juice, tallying a career-high 155 yards and a touchdown on 25 carries,” NFL.com reported.
The Cowboys have a goal this season to win the Super Bowl. Jones' team hasn't won the Super Bowl in more than 30 years. Jones has made it no secret that he wants another ring.
The Cowboys next play the Arizona Cardinals on November 1.
