Cardinals running back Jeremiyah Love’s return to the lineup on Sunday came to an early end.

Love left the game with an ankle injury at the end of the first half and did not return. Love had missed the previous two games with an ankle injury, but head coach Mike LaFleur said on Monday that this was not an aggravation of that issue.

“This is new,” LaFleur said at his press conference.

LaFleur said that he would have more information about the severity of the injury and Love’s outlook moving forward on Wednesday. Love had nine carries for 23 yards before leaving the game.

The Cardinals also saw Bam Knight go down with a concussion, but Tyler Allgeier broke loose for 147 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries after taking over as the lead back.
