The Denver Broncos are gearing up for a huge AFC West showdown in Week 8. Denver will host Kansas City in what some are calling a must-win game for both teams. The Broncos and Chiefs are the only two teams truly in the running for the AFC West division title. Both teams have five wins coming into Week 8, so the victor will take the lead in the division standings.
This game is arguably more important for Denver, as Kansas City beat them back in Week 1. So if the Chiefs pull off another win this Sunday, they will have swept the Broncos and gained a head-to-head tiebreaker.
If the Broncos want to win this game, they'll need Jaylen Waddle to return from injury. He entered Week 8 with his health status completely up in the air. But his status is now becoming clear as kickoff is just hours away.
Waddle just got a big injury update on Sunday morning that Broncos fans will want to see.

New reports indicate that Waddle does have a chance to play on Sunday.
Waddle is reportedly “trending in the right direction” to play after aggravating a chest injury in Week 7, per NFL insider Ian Rapoport.
Waddle is officially questionable on the injury report but still has a chance to play in this important divisional contest. If he is on the fence, it is understandable why Denver would want to active him. The Broncos will already be undermanned on offense with RJ Harvey out with a knee injury. Having Waddle in the lineup could help Bo Nix keep up with Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs' offense.
In other Broncos injury news, safety Talanoa Hufanga is also out with an ankle injury.
Broncos vs. Chiefs kicks off at 4:25 p.m. ET from Mile High in Denver.
