Brunson is a diehard fan of the show and previously shared that his father, Rick Brunson, introduced him to the crime drama.

“I remember my dad always watching the show and you just hear the iconic (theme song) ‘don-don’ all the time,” Brunson told Knicks teammate Josh Hart on their podcast The Roommates Show last year. “I always found myself watching the show.”

He added: “Honestly the older I got, the more I watched, the more I see now I’m like, ‘I’ve seen that episode,’ I’ve seen so many different episodes.”

Hargitay and Brunson have sparked up a friendship over the years with them supporting one another in their careers. The actress was the host of the 78th Primetime Emmy Awards that aired on Monday, September 14, where Brunson participated in the opening musical number in the pre-taped segment.

The Emmy Award-winning actress has also been supportive of Brunson and the Knicks during their journey to the NBA Finals. She attended the Eastern Conference Game 2 when the Knicks faced the Cleveland Cavaliers. The actress also attended Game 3 of the NBA Finals with SVU alum Christopher Meloni and Game 4 of the NBA Finals.

So far, the role that Brunson plays on the show has not yet been revealed.

You can catch Brunson on Law & Order: SVU on November 5 at 9 p.m. on NBC.
