The Minnesota Timberwolves started out their season with a bang on Wednesday night with a blowout road win over the Miami Heat. The duo of LaMelo Ball and Anthony Edwards was electric in this one, with Edwards leading the way with 45 points and nine three-pointers in the victory.
Now, former NBA player and current hot take artist Kendrick Perkins has delivered his glowing review of Minnesota's backcourt after 48 minutes of the season.
“What we witnessed last night was the best backcourt in basketball,” said Perkins, per NBA on ESPN on X, formerly Twitter.
Perkins has been known to be a prisoner of the moment at times, so all of his bold assessments and takes should be taken with a major grain of salt, but it's still hard to disagree with the take after the way that Ball and Edwards were able to eviscerate a Heat defense that many think will be among the best in the league this year.
The star of the show was Edwards, who continues to look like one of the best shooters of the modern era, torching Miami whenever they went under on screens and also hitting several tough triples off the bounce.
Meanwhile, Ball also was not shy about letting if fly from beyond the arc, and the Timberwolves got a big game from wing Jaden McDaniels as well.

In any case, the Timberwolves will next hit the floor on Friday evening for a road game against the Orlando Magic.
