On Wednesday, Caleb Wilson got his feet wet in his debut with the Chicago Bulls. However, the Bulls suffered a historic blowout loss to the Toronto Raptors, 135-92.

Wilson finished the game with 16 points and 4 rebounds. But he also had 9 turnovers.

After the game, Wilson took it stride as a learning process, per Bulls on CHSN.

“I just feel like it’s a learning lesson,” Wilson said.

He also took responsibility for the turnovers, committed himself to correcting his mistakes, and looked ahead to the next game.

Wilson's maturity has already endeared him to those who expect nothing but the best from him. The No. 4 draft pick out of North Carolina has to shoulder the burden of carrying the Bulls from the doldrums of the NBA back to some semblance of legitimacy.

Undoubtedly, Wilson's ascendancy has become a focal point for an organization in the midst of a top-down rebuild.

In the preseason, Wilson was on top of his game. He averaged 15.8 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game.

Wilson's on-court talent, combined with his leadership, makes him a strong candidate for NBA Rookie of the Year.

The Bulls will travel to Milwaukee to play against the Bucks on Friday night. It was added to make way for Game 1 of the World Series. Then, they will play in their home opener against the Washington Wizards on Saturday night.
