The Los Angeles Rams are currently gearing up for Week 2 of the NFL season, which will take place next Monday night at home against the New York Giants. The Rams started off their season with an ugly loss to the San Francisco 49ers in Australia and have since learned that superstar pass rusher Myles Garrett will be placed on the IL due to a knee injury.

This being the case, fans are anxiously awaiting the return of Aaron Donald, who has come out of retirement to rejoin the team but did not play in Week 1.

Now, head coach Sean McVay has given the latest update on Donald's status heading into Week 2.

“We haven't decided that yet,” McVay said when asked whether Donald will play vs the Giants, per Sarah Barshop of ESPN NFL Nation on X, formerly Twitter. “He's going to continue to work his process and we'll see what that looks like.”

It remains to be seen how closely Donald will resemble the superstar version of himself at the age of 35, and having spent two years away from the game in retirement. However, the Rams are suddenly feeling a bit of early-season pressure due to both the ugly loss to San Francisco as well as the loss of Garrett to injury.

While the Giants might seemingly be an easier opponent to deal with, they sure looked explosive on offense against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday, making Donald's return of even more paramount importance.

The Giants and Rams are set to kick off on September 21 at 8:15 pm ET.
