The Phoenix Suns (0-1) could remain without guard Luke Kennard for Saturday night's home opener against the Golden State Warriors (0-2) as they attempt to bounce back from a disappointing start to the 2026-27 NBA season.
Phoenix listed Kennard as questionable with left knee tendinopathy on its latest injury report Saturday afternoon. The veteran guard missed Wednesday's season-opening 124-83 loss to the Portland Trail Blazers.
Kennard's potential absence would leave the Suns without one of their primary perimeter shooting options for the second consecutive game.
Phoenix acquired the sharpshooter during the offseason to provide additional offensive support around Devin Booker and improve its outside shooting.
Kennard split the 2025-26 season between the Atlanta Hawks and Los Angeles Lakers, averaging 8.4 points, 2.3 rebounds and 2.2 assists while shooting 47.8% from 3-point range across 78 games.
The 30-year-old averaged 7.9 points, 2.2 rebounds and 2.1 assists while shooting 49.7% from beyond the arc in 46 games with Atlanta. Following his move to Los Angeles, Kennard averaged 9.0 points, 2.6 rebounds and 2.4 assists while shooting 44.8% from deep across 32 appearances.

Kennard is one of three Phoenix players listed on Saturday's injury report.

Their potential absences create additional challenges for second-year head coach Jordan Ott as Phoenix prepares to face a Golden State team also seeking its first victory following an 0-2 start to the season.
Kennard's shooting ability could prove valuable for a Suns offense attempting to develop consistency following its offseason roster changes.
Phoenix will host Golden State on Saturday at 7 p.m. PT on NBA TV, with both teams looking to avoid another early-season setback.
