On Sunday, the Baltimore Ravens took their third straight loss with a blowout road defeat at the hands of the Buffalo Bills. After the game, things went from bad to worse when it was revealed that quarterback Lamar Jackson had suffered a thumb injury that will require surgery and could keep him out for the rest of the season.
Now, one NFL insider has begun considering the nuclear option amid the continued injury troubles for Jackson.
“It's a fair question to ask if he's done with Baltimore altogether… after this season, Lamar Jackson will be entering the final year of his contract. His cap number next year is set to be over $84 million… with all of the mystery going on with Lamar, his injuries… It's fair to wonder which direction Baltimore goes in,” said Ari Meirov of The 33rd Team, per a video posted to his account on X, formerly Twitter.
Indeed, Jackson has struggled to stay on the field consistently in recent years, having missed significant time with a hamstring injury last year and now in jeopardy of missing the rest of this season due to the thumb issue.

In any case, things don't get any easier from here for the Ravens, who will next hit the field after a short week on Thursday at home vs the red-hot Jacksonville Jaguars.
