There have been a number of breakdowns and opinions in reference to the Los Angeles Dodgers' brutal series against the Milwaukee Brewers. For those who missed it, LA was swept in the National League Championship Series by Milwaukee. MLB insider Buster Olney of ESPN recently decided to reveal the brutally honest reality of the series, via ESPN Podcasts.

“The bottom line was, they (Dodgers) just got their a** kicked,” Olney said. “… We walk away and you're like, ‘Yeah, the Brewers killed them. They out-scored them 21-9. The Dodgers hit one home run. The Brewers were the team running around the field, making all kinds of plays.”

Doing a deep dive into the series is fair. There are certainly elements of the NLCS worth discussing. Olney is correct in his assessment, however. The Brewers were simply the much better baseball team in this series. The Dodgers simply stood no chance, which is surprising since they entered the postseason as the two-time defending champions.

Milwaukee deserves credit. Sure, LA did not play its best baseball, but the Brewers were clearly prepared for the NLCS.

Meanwhile, the Dodgers will shift their focus to the offseason. LA still features a talented roster, but some roster changes could be made after the disappointing NLCS performance.
