The Indiana Hoosiers welcomed PJ Fleck's Minnesota Golden Gophers to Memorial Stadium in Bloomington, Indiana, surviving in overtime with a 23-17 win as starting QB Josh Hoover was benched. Hoover failed to live up to his coach's expectations going into the game but backup Grant Wilson saved the day as Indiana got a much-needed win.

As the game headed toward the second half, two young Indiana fans got their time to shine as they were featured by ESPN's cameras.

Curt Cignetti has become a household name among college football fans after leading the Hoosiers to the national championship last season. The former James Madison University Dukes head coach is known for his famous catch phrase, when he said, ‘I win, Google me,” after being named as the head man in Bloomington. The Hoosiers have since gone on to become a consistent, winning program with a Big Ten title also under their belt from 2025.

Cignetti didn't let his hometown fans town on Saturday, October 31 as he helped spearhead a comeback victory over the upstart, upset-minded Gophers. Lee Beebe Jr. led Indiana with 15 carries for 84 yards on the ground while Charlie Becker led in receiving with eight catches for 149 yards and a touchdown. Becker has been moving up draft boards and was mocked to the Jets recently in the 2027 NFL Draft, where he would joined former IU star Omar Cooper Jr.

The Hoosiers got another win that wasn't as pretty as fans expected, but it came at a much-needed time. Indiana is now 7-1 and Cignetti is arguably the biggest reason headed toward the stretch run.
