After winning the ODI series 2-1, India have started the T20I leg on a fantastic note. In the first T20I, they showed why they are back-to-back T20 World Cup winners. On a flat track, the Indian bowlers restricted the tourists to 171 in 19.1 overs. Naman Dhir starred with the ball, bagging a three-for, while Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav picked up two wickets each.
In reply, the Men in Blue made light work of the 172-run target. Sanju Samson was dismissed cheaply but Abhishek Sharma played a quickfire cameo. Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan joined forces in the fourth over. They stitched an unbeaten 137-run stand off just 67 deliveries as India romped home in 14.4 overs. Shreyas finished on 102 off just 43 balls, hitting 10 fours and six sixes.
India are the favourites heading into the second T20I and the West Indies players will have to punch above their weights to upset the home side.
