The New England Patriots are 3-2 with hopes of a return from star wide receiver AJ Brown, who spoke about how his injury felt earlier this week. Brown emphasized patience regarding his return from a high ankle sprain on his right foot, while coach Mike Vrabel said there's “a chance” for a return on Sunday, October 18 against the New York Jets.
NFL reporter Ian Rapoport joined The Pat McAfee Show ahead of the game and made another comment on the situation. Brown has been practicing this week but his playing status looks like a huge question mark.
“As far as AJ Brown goes, I was told this was about a six-week injury…This is week four, it is awfully fast, so practice this week, I don't believe he's been full yet, I'd be surprised if he played, and wasn't previously a full participant in practice, so we'll find out more tomorrow…My guess is he'll be limited and questionable. Now, he wants to play…Makes no sense to rush him out there.”

Rhamondre Stevenson has filled in nicely for Henderson, but the wide receiver position hasn't been the same without Brown's hulking presence as one of the AFC's most physically strong receivers and best deep threats.
The Patriots are big favorites against the Jets, but Brown is a warrior who wants to play. Vrabel and his coaching staff could have a tough decision on their hands as Week 6 draws near and Brown continues to ramp up activities in hopes of playing.
