The Seattle Seahawks took a tough loss against the Denver Broncos in overtime, and it wasn't the best performance from Sam Darnold. The quarterback threw two interceptions at crucial points in the game, and the one in overtime led to the Broncos winning the game on a field goal.
Darnold's performance has people raising questions, such as whether he should be benched. Mike Mcdanold hasn't seemed to reach that point yet, according to ESPN's Brady Henderson.
“Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald, when asked by [Mike Salk] on [Seattle Sports] if he's at all considering a change at QB: ‘No. No.' He said he knows they have a starting-caliber backup in Drew Lock but that he believes they can find solutions with Sam Darnold as their starter,” Henderson wrote on X, formerly Twitter.
Though Darnold hasn't played well, there are still some things that need to improve around him, which has been the message amongst the organization.
“Asking some people in the league on this today, the feeling is this is the right move. Darnold is an effective starter but needs more help, cleaner surroundings. Struggling running game + straight dropbacks vs elite pass rush leads to mistakes,” ESPN's Jeremy Fowler wrote on X.

Things don't get any easier for Darnold, as the Seahawks face the Kansas City Chiefs next week. If Darnold doesn't play well in that, it'll be interesting to see if Macdonald decides to make any changes.
