The Baltimore Ravens have looked dangerous to start the Jesse Minter era. Baltimore is 2-1 on the season after a thrilling game against Dallas from Rio de Janeiro in Week 3. Ravens fans can breathe easy after getting an injury update about their franchise quarterback ahead of Week 4.
NFL insider Ian Rapoport shared a positive injury update about Jackson on Friday morning just ahead of Week 4.
“Lamar Jackson was limited early in the week with a back injury. No need for panic, no need for alarm. He was a full participant yesterday in practice, all healed up,” Rapoport said on Friday via SportsCenter. “Lamar expected to start on Sunday.”
This should not be a big surprise for Ravens fans who have been paying attention this week.
Jackson did not practice on Wednesday but when he talked with reporters, he talked as if he would start on Sunday. That theory was only validated by Jackson returning to practice on Thursday alongside wide receiver Zay Flowers.
Lamar has dealt with multiple injuries over the past few seasons. It is great to hear that this latest back injury is nothing to worry about.
Article Continues BelowThe Ravens may want to lean heavily on Derrick Henry during Sunday's game. Not only because it would take pressure off Lamar, but also because Henry will be going up against his former team. It will be the first time that Henry has played against the Titans during his entire NFL career.
Ravens fans should keep their eyes on the offensive line in this game. Rookie Vega Ioane is taking over at center after Jovaughn Gwyn and Ethan Pocic went down with injuries last week. That change will be significant for Jackson and could influence how big the running lanes are for Henry.
Either way, Baltimore should have an easy time getting another in Week 4 against a winless opponent.
Ravens vs. Titans kicks off at 1 p.m. ET on Oct. 4 from M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore.
