The Milwaukee Brewers are just one win away from making it to the World Series, having gone up 3-0 on the Los Angeles Dodgers on Wednesday evening in their NLCS matchup. The Brewers briefly fell behind in this one 2-1 but went back ahead for good thanks to a monster sixth inning and are now just nine innings away from winning the NL pennant.

The Brewers have been on a dominant run in this regular season and playoffs, and they now sit within arm's length of accomplishing something that hasn't been done in nearly a century.

“The Brewers have yet to allow a home run or a SB in the NLCS. Just one team has gone an entire best-of-7 postseason series without allowing a home run or SB: 1927 WS Yankees vs PIT,” reported Sarah Langs of the MLB on X, formerly Twitter.

It's certainly an impressive accomplishment and a testament to the Brewers' pitching staff, which was dominant all year and has seen that success continue over into the postseason, first in the Wild Card round against the San Diego Padres and now against Los Angeles.

The Brewers were swept by this same Dodgers team in the NLCS last year, although things are quite different this time around, as Shohei Ohtani has gone from otherworldly to borderline unplayable thanks to a severe slump and being hampered by injuries.

Still, the Brewers know that there is still work to do to close out a Dodgers team that is going to give them their best shot on Wednesday night.

Game 4 is set for 8:00 pm ET from Los Angeles.
