The Cleveland Guardians were facing elimination on Wednesday night. Cleveland needed a win to avoid a sweep in the ALDS at the hands of the Chicago White Sox. Thankfully for the Guardians, Jo Adell and his teammates got the win they needed.
Adell had a big say at the plate, driving in three runs for Cleveland. The Guardians dominated for the most part as they pulled away with a huge 9-3 win. As a result, the two teams will play a Game 4 in this series in Chicago. After Game 3, Adell spoke about how his team is preparing for this next do-or-die game.
“Just going to feed off of this. If we can carry this into tomorrow, I like our chances. And that's what we do. Guards Ball is about being gritty and finding a way to get it done. I'm excited for us,” the Guardians slugger said, via TNT Sports.
Adell wasn't the only one with a big day at the plate. Both Jose Ramirez and Patrick Bailey had multi-hit games. Ramirez hit a triple and drove in two runs in this win over the White Sox.
