In 2024, the Miami Heat unveiled a statue of Dwyane Wade outside the Keseya Center. However, Heat fans had mixed feelings because they felt his likeness wasn't accurate, especially his face.

On Friday, the organization headed the outcry and unveiled a newly revamped statue, per Will Manso of WPLG Local 10 News.

They adjusted the statue so it depicted Wade's face more accurately.

In response, Wade expressed humility.

“It may be my likeness, but it will always be our house” Wade said.

Wade helped put the Heat on the map in the mid-to-late 2000s. He was drafted 5th in 2003 out of Marquette University. Three years later, Wade, along with Shaquille O'Neal, Alonzo Mourning, Udonis Haslem, and Antoine Walker, defeated the Dallas Mavericks in six games to win their first NBA title.

Wade was the Finals MVP, averaging 34.7 points per game.

Four years later, the NBA world was shaken up when LeBron James joined the Heat to play with Wade and Chris Bosh. The era of the “Superteam” began.

Along the way, Wade became a 13-time NBA All-Star and 2010 NBA All-Star Game MVP. In 2023, Wade was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame.

Two years later, Wade joined the Redeem Team from the 2008 Olympics that brought the gold medal back to the United States. LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony, Dwight Howard, and Kobe Bryant were part of that team.

Altogether, Wade played 15 seasons with the Heat.
