The Miami Heat are 0-4 on the season after falling 113-109 to the Dallas Mavericks on Monday. It's been an incredibly slow start for a team that had essentially won the offseason by trading for Giannis Antetokounmpo. But things haven't worked out to begin the campaign, and Gilbert Arenas isn't too happy about it.

In the latest episode of “The Gilbert Arenas Show,” the former NBA point guard admitted he feels “disappointed” with how poorly the Heat are playing right now. Arenas claims he believed adding Antetokounmpo would make the team better, and surprised himself by pondering whether or not the Heat should have just kept Tyler Herro.

“I’m really disappointed in them. I thought just getting Giannis [Antetokounmpo] made everything better,” Arenas said. “I said, ‘Damn ya'll was better with Tyler Herro?' I be looking at the game like, ‘Down 20? Oh, ya'll, Giannis and Bam [Adebayo] must not be playing.'”

But the opposite is true. Both Antetokounmpo and Adebayo are playing for the Heat. In Monday's loss, the two combined for 37 points, 22 rebounds, 14 assists, two steals, and three blocks. Antetokounmpo was much more effective than Adebayo, as the Heat's star center only accounted for eight points, eight rebounds, three assists, two steals, and two blocks, making just three of his 10 field goal attempts.

Miami clearly has some kinks to iron out, as the entire team looks a bit off to begin the 2026-27 season. Luckily, it's early in the campaign, and the Heat have plenty of time to figure things out and get back on track. Giannis Antetokounmpo and his teammates will have another chance to right the ship with a road game against the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday.
