The New York Giants were dealt a brutal blow after new reports revealed that Jaxson Dart's knee injury is much worse than the organization initially believed it to be. Not long after the injury happened, general manager Joe Schoen declared that the second-year quarterback was in a good place, which quelled concerns about the severity of the injury.
But with Dart facing a potentially season-ending surgery, it appears the fifth-year GM's comment is aging like spoiled milk. Joe Schoen informed ESPN reporters during the “Monday Night Football” broadcast that the 23-year-old signal-caller was going to be “Okay.” While the comment didn't provide any context, it did create a sense that Dart may have avoided a serious injury.
“He's going to be okay,” Schoen said about Dart on Monday night.
However, that couldn't be further from the truth. Giants fans are seemingly frustrated with Schoen and shared their dismay on social media. Some do their best to explain their fury, while others call for Joe Schoen's job.
“Fire Joe Schoen,” said one fan.
Another person stated, “Joe Schoen needs to be grabbed by a beam & taken to another planet.”
“Joe Schoen should be tarred and feathered,” joked a frustrated individual.
This user stated, “Just completely unacceptable by Schoen. But let’s be honest, he’s going to get fired now without a doubt. I say this because with Dart out, his entire roster will get exposed.”
“That mf Joe Schoen said he’s all good. That mf is the devil, man who's gonna get let off for a roster half filled with his busts or letdowns? I cannot believe his employment status is real,” explained another Giants fan.
The Giants initially hired Schoen in January of 2022. Since that time, the club has had just one winning season. New York is currently 27-59 with Schoen as general manager.
