The New York Jets gave it their all in Week 3 of the 2026 NFL season. New York lost a close game against Detroit 31-24 in a game that featured multiple injuries for the away team. Fortunately, one important Jets player avoided a significant injury in the waning moments of the fourth quarter.

Jets head coach Aaron Glenn said that Garrett Wilson had a concussion evaluation and was cleared, per Jets reporter Brian Costello.

Wilson suffered the hit that forced the concussion evaluation late in the fourth quarter. New York was down by one score at the time and needed to put points on the board in a hurry. QB Geno Smith fed Wilson the ball on that final drive, including the play where Wilson looked to have gotten hurt. In the play in question, Wilson received a shot from Chuck Clark's shoulder.

It is great news to hear that Wilson did not suffer a concussion on that play. That said, it is possible that Wilson may still come away with a nagging injury from the big hit.

The Jets frequently targeted Wilson on offense and put together a pretty successful day. He finished the game with 10 receptions for 107 receiving yards and a touchdown. Wilson is still far and away the most dynamic player in New York's wide receiver room.

Rookie Kenyon Sadiq proved that he's a dangerous pass catcher himself. The rookie hauled in an acrobatic touchdown reception in the first half, the first score of his NFL career. It also gave the Jets the lead at the time.

New York also saw running back Breece Hall leave Sunday's game with a thigh injury. He did not return. Jets fans will want to keep an eye on his status in the coming days.

The Jets are now 1-2 to start the season, but they should feel good about how they played over the last two games.

Next up for New York is a Week 4 matchup against Chicago.
