Two years after his release from WWE, former professional wrestler and television actor Saurav Gurjar has now been arrested in an alleged sexual exploitation case. Gurjar, who once competed in WWE as Sanga, has now been arrested and is in judicial custody.

As per reports from Hindustan Times and Times of India, Gurjar was arrested in connection with a sexual exploitation case filed by a 29-year-old woman. She accused him of misleading her with marriage promises.

A former WWE Superstar, Gurjar has also played parts in several popular Bollywood projects. He was recently detained at the Mumbai airport after police issued a Look Out Circular against him. Following this, he was taken to Hyderabad and remanded to judicial custody for 14 days. The allegations against him have not yet been proven and are still under investigation. They have also not been established in court yet.

The woman had approached the police on Aug. 15, 2026. As per the complaint, Gurjar was stopped by immigration officials at the Mumbai airport on Sept. 17, 2026. He was then taken to Hyderabad and produced before a magistrate.

As per the reports, the woman claimed to have met Gurjar in 2021, while he was still a part of WWE. They met for the first time on Dec. 25, 2021, and began a relationship that continued between the US and India.

As per the complaint, Gurjar was already married when he met the woman and began their relationship. He even compelled her to leave her employment in the USA to move and stay with him in India. Gurjar had promised her about building a life in India and starting their own business there. However, he failed to follow up on those promises.

“During the course of our relationship, the accused disclosed that he was already married. He repeatedly promised to give me wife-like rights and eventually settle down with me,” the woman shared in her complaint. “He used to block me on the phone/social media and disappear without any prior information. I suffered mental harassment, emotional distress, and financial loss, including losing my job after I left my employment in the US to stay with him”.

She also stated that he resided with her from Oct. 2025 to Mar. 2026 before they stopped communicating. After the complaint was filed, the police registered a case under Section 69 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, which pertains to sexual intercourse obtained by deceitful methods.
