Earlier this year, the 39-year-old Michael ‘Venom' Page finished his contract with the UFC after defeating Nursulton Ruziboev at UFC Paris. Shortly after, UFC President Dana White confirmed that the promotion did not offer Page a new deal despite him winning five of his six fights.
Page intended to talk about his future with the UFC leadership after his fight in France. However, his contract's expiry was met with silence. Later, Jake Paul also teased hiring Page after his UFC contract situation. However, he has now joined KSI's Misfits Boxing.
Now, a few weeks later, Page appeared in an interview with Ariel Helwani, where he opened up about his career's next steps. The British combat sports star revealed that he has now signed a lucrative new deal with KSI's Misfits Boxing. It didn't take long for Page to find a new home, and he has now signed up with the London-based boxing promotion, where he is set to earn significantly more than he did in the UFC.
“We had a lot of offers from a lot of different promotions,” Page shared. “Misfits came with a crazy deal, an absolutely crazy deal, which means I’ve only continued to grow and get better financially, but then KSI is my boy and I’ve worked alongside the Misfits guys before,” he said. Page further added that Misfits Boxing's vision for the future is to launch an MMA show and have now secured Page to lead the way.
“I’ve left the UFC, and now I’m making more money. I’m making 2x more, just over, and in a shorter period; it’s a three-fight deal, and in the three-fight deal I’ll make more than I did in my entire UFC contract. Yeah, (it’s a seven-figure deal per fight),” he added.
