The Philadelphia Flyers made the Stanley Cup Playoffs in rather impressive fashion last year. They finished with nearly 100 points as goalie Dan Vladar helped lead a resilient group to the postseason. Things have not gone their way early on in 2026-27, though.
The Flyers picked up their fourth straight loss on Monday night. They could not overcome the Tampa Bay Lightning away from home. Pontus Homberg and Ilya Mikheyev each registered two points in the win for the Lightning.
After the game, Vladar spoke about his team's winless start. They have lost every game this season. They have a lot of hockey remaining, but things are not up to snuff for them in the early going.

The Flyers have had a bit of a mixed bag in terms of goaltending luck so far. Woll and Vladar have each played two games to varying results. Woll has been fantastic, playing to a .929 save percentage. Vladar, meanwhile, has a less-than-stellar .863 mark.
Philadelphia has time to figure things out. They have 80 games remaining on the schedule. It certainly is not time to panic at all. At the same time, they want to build momentum early on. They will have a chance to win their first game of the season on Thursday against the Ottawa Senators.
