Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Davante Adams had quite the performance in the club's 28-6 Monday night win over the New York Giants. He hauled in eight receptions off 10 targets for 195 yards and two touchdowns, which translated to 41.5 fantasy points in traditional PPR scoring leagues. But is that type of production sustainable?

ESPN's fantasy football expert Field Yates broke down the 33-year-old's performance in “Monday Night Football” in the latest segment of “Fantasy Focus.” Yates was impressed with Adams' play and liked how involved the Rams star was outside of just red zone usage. Puka Nacua's absence certainly played a part, and Yates ponders whether fantasy players will need the four-year veteran to miss games for Adams to put up big numbers. But he seems to like Adams' outlook regardless.

“Last night was, to me, more important than what we saw last season from Davante Adams, in the sense that Davante Adams last year, and you still get the fantasy points, it's not how, it's how many you get,” Yates said. “But it was unsustainable for Davante Adams to have all of these one-yard touchdowns. I mean, he was flying down the field last night…

“It was a vintage performance. He clearly still has gas left in the tank. He didn't show it much in Week 1. And maybe when Puka is around, you're just not gonna see that much volume from Davante,” Yates continued. “But this hip injury for Puka, we don't know that much more about it. So, if he's out in Week 3 against the Denver Broncos, a tough matchup. But you can certainly have more confidence based on what you saw from Davante last night.”

The Broncos have one of the top-ranked defenses in the NFL. With Patrick Surtain II playing cornerback in Denver, playing Adams could be a risky decision. Especially if Nacua returns from the hip injury.

Expect Davante Adams to come back down to earth in Week 3. Also keep a watchful eye on Puka Nacua's status leading up to the game against the Broncos. But based on what we saw from the three-time First-Team All-Pro, it still might be a wise decision to start Adams in the flex.
