The Indiana Fever boast a historic offense led by Caitlin Clark and Kelsey Mitchell, but one cannot discount the massive boost their fan base gives them on a nightly basis. Playing its final home game of the regular season, Indy put on a show for its fervid crowd and earned a 96-77 win over the Olivia Miles-less Minnesota Lynx on Tuesday.
With the WNBA playoffs just days away, Clark is expressing gratitude for her teammates and the franchise's many supporters.
“Just proud of this group and thankful for these fans,” the 2024 All-WNBA First-Team selection told ESPN's Holly Rowe after the Fever improved to 28-15 on the year. “The season goes fast, but it's been good.”

Clark tallied a game-high 27 points, nine assists and seven rebounds inside Gainbridge Fieldhouse. She made sure that Mitchell left the building with her 27th consecutive game scoring 20 points or more. The superstar point guard was not merely being a good teammate, though. She was giving the people what they want.
Article Continues Below“It's awesome how this crowd really rallied behind Kels,” Clark said. “Obviously she's been through a lot of tough times with this organization, and now she gets to play in front of a sold-out crowd every night. They have her back like no other. These fans truly love this team and you could feel it every time you're in this gym.”
Caitlin Clark, Kelsey Mitchell and the entire Fever squad understand the value of decimating the first-place Lynx, but they want this championship contender at maximum capacity. No. 22 openly stated that she hopes fellow MVP candidate Olivia Miles competes in Thursday's regular season finale at Minnesota's Target Center. The rookie wonder missed Tuesday's contest with a calf injury.
Though, since the Lynx clinched the No. 1 seed with a Golden State Valkyries overtime loss, there is a decent chance that Indiana is once again denied the opportunity to battle this team at full strength. Players should be in good spirits regardless.
The Fever are not yet sure where they will play in the first round of the playoffs, but they expect their loyal fan base to follow them every step of the way.
