The FAU Owls set themselves apart in college football history following a spectacular performance from Easton Messer in their 51-49 win over the Rice Owls on Saturday afternoon.
Messer is going through the final season of his collegiate career, his second with the Owls. He shines as one of the best receivers in the nation, ranking high with a lot of catches and yards with his incredible chemistry with quarterback Caden VeltKamp.
Messer filled up the stat sheet in FAU's clash with Rice in a battle of the Owls. He caught 12 passes for 162 yards and two touchdowns while rushing three times for 18 yards and two touchdowns. Not only that, but he also returned a punt for a touchdown in the fourth quarter. This etched himself into the record books of history, via ESPN Insights.
