The 2026 fantasy football season has already included some huge surprises. That is especially true at the wide receiver position. Some established stars have disappointed through the first four weeks. Meanwhile, some dark horse candidates like Christian Watson and Garrett Wilson have enjoyed top 10 starts to the season.

One obvious lesson here is that very few wide receivers are consistently week-to-week superstars in the modern NFL. That's why it is more important than ever to check your matchups each week to ensure you're starting your best receivers.

So which wide receivers should you rely on most for Week 5 of the 2026 fantasy football season?

Week 5 Top Fantasy Football Picks

Puka Nacua, LAR (vs. BUF)

It did not take long for Puka to get back in a rhythm after his pre-hernia injury.

Nacua had a great game against the Eagles in Week 4, putting up nine receptions for 125 receiving yards alongside a two-yard rushing touchdown. That was good for 27.7 fantasy points in full PPR leagues.

This week's matchup against the Bills is a juicy one for fantasy football purposes. Both teams have incredible offenses that should make life difficult on the opposing defense. While the actual outcome of this game should be close, the fantasy points should pile up in bunches.

Fantasy managers should expect Puka to put up another elite performance as the Rams attempt to pull of their biggest win of the season.

Nico Collins, HOU (at TEN)

Welcome back, Nico.

It turns out that Collins was the missing ingredient in Houston's offense all along. He scored two touchdowns and put up 30.8 fantasy points in Week 4 and could repeat that success this weekend.

The Texans face off against a Titans team that doesn't do much of anything well. Houston cannot run the ball very well right now, so Collins gives them the best chance to gain yards. That should mean plenty of targets and fantasy points for Collins once again.

Zay Flowers, BAL (at ATL)

The Ravens certainly know how to use Flowers in their new Declan Doyle-led offense.

Flowers has gone over 100 receiving yards with a touchdown in two of his three games played this season. That third game was pretty solid too, generating more than 10 fantasy points.

At this point, Flowers looks like a high-floor, high-ceiling receiver who is a strong WR1 each week. And he becomes a must-start when going up against a weak coverage unit.

Falcons have been one of the worst defenses in the NFL against the pass through four games. They've allowed 264.8 passing yards per game this year, which ranks 30th in the NFL. Only the Lions and Jaguars have allowed more passing yards per game.

Start Flowers with confidence this week.

Week 5 Fantasy Football Sleepers

Michael Wilson, ARI (vs. DET)

The logic is pretty easy to follow with this one.

Detroit has the worst pass defense unit in the NFL without a doubt this season. Every quarterback who goes up against them has a great game. That will hold true with Jacoby Brissett and the Cardinals, too.

Trey McBride may be the biggest beneficiary and should explode for a monster game. But Wilson should get plenty of opportunities to score fantasy points as well.

Wilson is practically guaranteed to have a great game, especially if Detroit's offense can turn this one into a shootout. He has huge splash game potential and should be started in every league.

Drake London, ATL (vs. BAL)

When Michael Penix Jr. needs to throw the ball to someone, it is almost always London.

There's no question that London will get more targets than any other Falcons pass catcher. But the X-factor in this game is actually Baltimore's run defense against Bijan Robinson and Atlanta's running game.

If the Falcons can run the ball at will, London is a high-floor play with limited upside. But if the Ravens can hold Bijan in check, then London could have another crazy fantasy performance.

Jameson Williams, DET (at ARI)

As mentioned above, Arizona vs. Detroit could easily turn into a shootout. If that happens, Williams could go nuclear against the Cardinals.

Williams was one of the lone bright spots for the Lions on Sunday Night Football. He finished with six receptions for 102 receiving yards but was held out of the end zone.

Goff and Jamo finally seem to be on the same page. If the Lions need to win this game by going guns blazing, it could mean more than a few deep shots to Williams.

There's some boom or bust potential here. But the likely game script suggests Jamo is a safe play in Week 5.

Week 5 Fantasy Football Wide Receiver Injuries

This week's wide receiver rankings look a bit different than they have in recent seasons. That's because two of the league's best receivers are dealing with injuries headed into Week 5.

Both Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins suffered injuries in Week 4 against the Jaguars. Chase left the game after being violently tackled by the face mask. He left the game and did not return after suffering a concussion. Chase is now in concussion protocol, which makes it incredibly difficult to predict that he will play in Week 5. As such, he is not included on this week's rankings.

Meanwhile, Higgins is viewed as day-to-day with an abductor injury.

There's also superstar Justin Jefferson, who did not play in Week 4 because of an ankle injury. The Vikings are rolling at 4-0 and have a bye week coming up. Therefore, it would not be surprising if Jefferson is benched again in Week 5 regardless of his injury status. He is also left off this week's ranking list.
