The Denver Broncos beat the Arizona Cardinals in Arizona by a score of 30-16, during a day when quarterback Bo Nix silenced the doubters with a 62-yard touchdown sprint. Nix led the Broncos in rushing on the day, while also matching Lamar Jackson with an impressive feat.
Just behind him was former Washington Huskies star and Broncos running back Jonah Coleman, who turned heads with a nine-carry, 54 yard performance that showed his versatility as a fast and powerful runner in Payton's system.
Payton made a comment after the game to Zac Stevens that bodes well for Coleman fantasy owners, and those in need of a waiver wire pickup, after the game.
“Got to get him more touches. Definitely,” the Broncos head coach said about his running back as the smoke cleared after the Broncos' key road win.
Coleman touched the ball 11 times and had 69 all-purpose yards during the game, which showed that Payton's offense still has new gears to reach. On defense, star cornerback Patrick Surtain II didn't play, but is trending toward a return that could happen soon.
