While the Atlanta Falcons are trying to prove they’re for real, the Saints are dealing with a key injury. These teams meet on Monday Night Football, and here are the predictions, odds, and pick for the Week 4 division showdown.
Both teams enter the game with a record of 1-2. One of them will exit the game in a first-place tie with the Panthers in the NFC South. The Falcons are coming off a beatdown of the Packers, while the Saints couldn’t close the deal in Week 3 against the Raiders.
Falcons vs. Saints Odds
- Saints: -1.5
- Falcons: +1.5
- Over: 47.5
- Under: 47.5
The oddsmakers seem to believe this line will come down to the final seconds. And that would fit the trend of the strong majority of NFL games this season. However, there is some question about whether the over-under line is too high, according to NBC Sports.
“The 35 points that Atlanta scored against the Packers won’t be a weekly occurrence, nor will the Saints' 27 versus the Raiders,” Vaughn Dalzell wrote. “The last three meetings resulted in 37 or fewer points and went Under in three of the last four in New Orleans. I would have to lean the Under and expect the familiarity of these teams to lean toward an Under with multiple turnovers between the two offenses.”
Falcons vs. Saints key injuries
While the Saints are still awaiting the debut of rookie wide receiver Jordyn Tyson, they lost Travis Etienne to IR this week. Those are two important pieces to their 2026 offensive game plan. Of course, Etienne’s injury requires an adjustment for tonight’s contest. The Saints are hopeful it’s only a four-game stint on the sidelines for Etienne, according to ESPN.
“It'll take a little while,” Saints head coach Kellen Moore said. “So obviously we felt like it would be at least four weeks and then we'll just kind of see how this thing progresses.”
Not having their lead dog means more time on the field for Alvin Kamara and Kendre Miller. Also, rookie CJ Donaldson could see short-yardage work.
“I think Alvin and Kendre will handle that load really well,” Moore said. “CJ's obviously kind of [got] his specific role. We got some guys on the practice squad as we kind of navigate the next few weeks. And so I feel like we're in a good place.”
One thing not to expect is for the Saints to try to turn the clock back and give Kamara 30-35 touches.
“Very few times this league is one running back going to haul the load,” Moore said. “That's just what this league is. And so you're going to need a number of backs to carry the ball in different circumstances. And so Alvin's done a nice job to start the season. I thought last week there was some good stuff in there. And we'll just keep continuing to build on that.
“He'll slide in there. He'll handle it really well. Kendre's played a number of snaps. He played some really good football last year in the start this season. So, we'll continue to roll with these guys.”
Also for the Saints, tight end Noah Fant is questionable with an abdominal injury.
As for the Falcons, they are mostly good to go. Linebackers Divine Deablo and Samson Ebukam are both questionable with hamstring issues.
Falcons vs. Saints betting trends
For the season, the Falcons are 1-2 ATS while the Saints are 2-1. The Falcons are 2-1 to the Under, and the Saints are 2-1 to the Over.
Article Continues BelowLooking back a little, the Falcons were a house dream in 2025. They went 8-8-1 ATS and 8-8-1 on the total.
As for the Saints, they have been very good against the spread against divisional opponents. They have an 8-4 mark in their last 12 games. On the flip side, the Falcons are 5-8 ATS in their last 13 divisional games.
If you read that divisional history into the current line, you might think the Saints are a safe bet for tonight’s game, straight up.
Keys to Falcons vs. Saints matchup
There are two simple pieces to the matchup puzzle. First, for the Falcons, will they be able to attack the Saints’ defense on the ground the way other teams have done? The Saints are giving up 128.7 yards per game on the ground. That ranks No. 26 in the NFL.
Atlanta will want to get Bijan Robinson cranked up early. But it doesn’t mean they will ignore Drake London. To have their best shot, the Saints will need to keep London from having a huge game.
Second, the Saints will need to be successful through the air early in the game. The Falcons currently boast the NFL’s best run defense. And with Etienne out, the Saints have no choice but to air it out.
However, that should be no problem. The Falcons won’t be able to cover Chris Olave. Nobody really has this year. The questions will come on whether the Falcons can limit other players.
Falcons vs. Saints prediction and pick
Being at home on Monday Night Football will be the tipping point for the Saints. Look for them to get ahead early and make the Falcons play catch up. That’s not what the Falcons do best. And they will be chasing points all game.
For the Falcons to steal a road win, tight end Kyle Pitts Sr. will have to avoid a fourth straight invisible man game in the 2026 season.
