Almost two years after Samantha Irvin shockingly left WWE, her non-compete clause is nearing its end, allowing her to work anywhere, including AEW.

On Oct. 22, 2025, Irvin had said that she was one year into her two-year non-compete clause. Now, she is about a month away from the second year of the non-compete coming to an end.

However, does this mean that she will end up in AEW? Her husband, Ricochet, is part of Tony Khan's promotion. Dave Meltzer noted that Irvin's non-compete was a unique situation, as she was signed to an “employee contract” rather than a “talent contract.” According to him, the “employment deals are worse” than the “one-sided talent contracts.”

According to Meltzer, Irvin had the freedom to leave WWE at any point, provided she gave two weeks notice. If she quit before her three-year contract ended like she did, there was a 24-month non-compete clause that would kick in.

Per her husband, Ricochet, Irvin wasn't passionate about being a ring announcer, and she wanted more out of her career. When she left, she launched her music career again.

She released a single, “Make Me,” in 2025 after her WWE exit. Previously, she competed on the 10th season of America's Got Talent, making it to the semi-finals. Irvin released an EP, 27Underground, which included her debut single “Jump High,” in 2016.

Irvin joined WWE in 2021. She origionally auditioned as an in-ring performer in 2020, but that did not work out. She was hired as a ring announcer in April 2021 for 205 Live on Peacock.

The following year, she would be promoted to Friday Night SmackDown, remaining in the role until May 2023, when she moved to Monday Night RAW. Irvin would announce her departure in October 2024, months after she introduced 14 matches at WrestleMania 40.
