On Tuesday evening, the Milwaukee Brewers blew a chance to win their first World Series in franchise history in sweep fashion by losing to the Tampa Rays 4-3 in extra innings. The Brewers thought they had the win in the bag with a home run from Cooper Pratt in the top of the 12th inning, but their pitching staff was unable to hold down the fort in the bottom of the inning, with Tampa Bay ultimately walking them off thanks to a series of errors and hits.
Some fans and pundits thought that Brewers manager Pat Murphy should have trotted out ace Jacob Misiorowski in the bottom of the 12th to try to close out the championship, including former player Trevor Plouffe.
“If you've got a chance to win it, the Cy Young award winner is there. He's in the bullpen, cleats are on, and Cooper Pratt's owner was with no outs in the top of the inning, so he had time…” said Plouffe, per Chris Rose Sports on X, formerly Twitter.
“I get the super conservative, logical thought process that Murphy is going with here, but at the same time, but at the same time, it's like, you have a chance to end it,” he added.

Instead, he will be on the mound starting for Game 5 of the series on Wednesday, with the Brewers once again looking to close things out on the road.
First pitch is slated for 8:00 pm ET in Tampa Bay.
