Denver Broncos tight end Evan Engram remains encouraged by his team's position despite an underwhelming offensive performance through the first six weeks of the 2026 NFL season.

The Broncos enter Week 7 at 4-2, with four wins in their last five games despite lingering concerns about their offensive consistency. Quarterback Bo Nix also boasts an impressive 18-3 record over his last 21 NFL starts. However, Denver's latest win showcased their ongoing offensive struggles, as the Broncos managed just 168 total yards in a 17-14 overtime win over the Seattle Seahawks on Thursday.

Still, Engram sees reason for optimism as the team continues to find ways to win without consistently producing their best football.

He acknowledged that the Broncos still have considerable room for improvement while emphasizing the importance of their winning record.

The Denver Post's Parker Gabriel shared Engram's comments Monday on X, formerly Twitter, highlighting the 10th-year NFL veteran's optimistic outlook despite the team's offensive struggles.

“We're in a great position after a very tough six weeks.”

Engram's optimism comes after the Broncos' offense struggled considerably against Seattle at Empower Field at Mile High last Thursday in the opening game of Week 6.

Nix completed 17 of 27 passes for 107 yards without a passing touchdown. The Broncos averaged just 2.9 yards per play, according to Seattle's official game recap.

After producing two touchdown drives in the second quarter, Denver managed only two additional first downs through the remainder of regulation. The offense failed to score again until overtime.

Cornerback Ja'Quan McMillian intercepted Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold in the extra period, setting up Wil Lutz's game-winning 53-yard field goal.

Head coach Sean Payton addressed those offensive shortcomings Monday, identifying offensive-line execution, rushing efficiency and opportunities for downfield passes as areas requiring improvement.

Payton also emphasized that Denver's offensive struggles extend beyond Nix, placing responsibility on the entire operation, including the coaching staff.
