England squad announcement: Trent Alexander-Alexander and Dominic Calvert-Lewin recalled with Alex Scott included

Thomas Tuchel has handed Trent Alexander-Arnold a recall to the England squad for the upcoming Nations League fixtures.

The right-back star fell out of favour under Tuchel following his move to Real Madrid and was subsequently left out of the World Cup squad.

There is also a recall for Bournemouth's Alex Scott, while in-form Leeds striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin is named in the squad.

The midfielder received his first senior call up last November for the World Cup qualifiers against Serbia and Albania, but was unable to muster up his first international minutes.

Scott has been in blistering form for Bournemouth and starred in Thursday's Europa League win at Real Sociedad.

The 23-year-old has long remained in Tuchel’s plans and was part of England’s pre-World Cup training camp in the USA.

There is also a recall for Chelsea’s Cole Palmer after his omission from England’s 26-man World Cup squad.

Like Scott, the attacking midfielder has been rewarded for his promising start to the season.

The Three Lions take on world champions Spain at Wembley before trips to Czechia and Croatia.

Tuchel’s side then round off the inflated international spell with a home game against Czechia.

It is Tuchel’s first gathering with his squad since their disappointing World Cup exit in July.

England were knocked out of the tournament at the semi-final stage, losing to Argentina 2-1 despite having led until the final ten minutes of the match.

They did, however, finish on a high note by beating pre-tournament favourites France 6-4 in the third place play-off match in Miami.
