Despite being the “King of New York,” Knicks captain Jalen Brunson is a Philadelphia Eagles fan, and not even Giants legend Eli Manning can change that.

During the Knicks star's appearance on the ManningCast during the Week 7 game between the Eagles and the Dallas Cowboys, Eli Manning brought up his brother Peyton's Nationwide commercial where he is dubbed “Paintin' Manning.”

Peyton Manning sent the basketball star a gift that he was hesitant to reveal: a painting of himself and Eli in Giants uniforms celebrating a Super Bowl. They are hoisting the Lombardi Trophy together.

You sure you don't want to hang that Paintin' Manning masterpiece in your bedroom, @jalenbrunson1? 😂 pic.twitter.com/F5xUsqCbB9

An edited video of the painting being hung in the rafters of Madison Square Garden in place of the Knicks' championship banner was shown, and this amused the elder Manning.

While Brunson didn't like it, he said his mother would have, since she is a Giants fan. Manning would allow him to gift it to her, which would make for a special Christmas gift.

“I thought you might hang this up in your bedroom,” Manning said, “but I'll allow you to give it to your mom. That'd be good.”

Brunson was born and raised in New Jersey, though his parents met at Temple University in Philadelphia. He moved around as a kid, eventually settling in Chicago in 2010. However, before his career in the pros, he attended Villanova, winning two national championships.

He has been a longtime Eagles fan. Being a New York sports icon can't change that. Still, he was a perfect guest on the ManningCast since Philly was playing the Cowboys.

Manning, of course, played for the Giants for 16 years. Like Brunson, he brought a championship to the Big Apple. He beat Tom Brady and the New England Patriots twice in the Super Bowl. Brunson helped bring the Knicks their first championship in over 50 years.
