The Philadelphia Eagles (2-2) and Jacksonville Jaguars (3-1) travel across the pond for a 9:30 AM Eastern kickoff in London, England at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium! This is quite the matchup for overseas play, however, both teams enter trending in different directions. After starting 2-0, the Eagles have lost two-straight games to the Bears and Rams, while the Jaguars have won two-straight over the Patriots and Bengals.
Philadelphia has a laundry list of problems entering Week 5, including nine starters listed as questionable ahead of going to London. The injury report lists Saquon Barkley, DeVonta Smith, and Dallas Goedert as questionable, plus their center, all three starting linebackers, and two defensive backs. Most of Jalen Hurts’ weapons are banged up and after a 20-point first half against the Rams, the Eagles were shutout in the second half of the 24-20 loss. Hurts had a career-low 93 passing yards on 12-of-27 (44.4%) with two touchdowns versus the Rams.
The Eagles didn’t turn the ball over and the defense forced two turnovers but were outgained in yards 415-172. Philadelphia’s offense only managed 12 first downs and were 0-for-12 on third downs and 1-of-4 on fourth downs. It’s hard to imagine the offense looking much better in London with the laundry list of injuries for a second-straight week, but we’ll see what Offensive Coordinator Sean Mannion cooks up. It’s worth noting the Eagles ranks tied with the Browns for last in first quarter points per game at 0.8.
Jacksonville has gotten off to much quicker starts this season with the offense scoring at least 10 points in all four first halves behind a monster defense that owns an NFL-best nine first-half points allowed! The Jaguars defense has forced four takeaways in the last two games, all interceptions off Joe Burrow and Drake Maye, and permitted a combined 106 rushing yards. Jacksonville has a consistent ground game offensively too starting with Bhayshul Tuten who’s recorded between 67 and 73 rushing yards in all four games and averaged 4.6 yards per carry. That’s made life easier for Trevor Lawrence who had a 8:2 TD to INT ratio and 17-19 completions through all four games.
Last year in London, the Jaguars allowed five passing touchdowns to Matthew Stafford and the Jaguars managed 94 rushing yards despite abandoning the run. Trevor Lawrence had a season-high 48 pass attempts and his second-most yards (296) in the blowout loss. This time around, I’d expect Jacksonville to establish the run early and be aggressive defensively. The Jaguars offense ranks sixth in offensive EPA versus the Eagles 31st-ranked defensive EPA, and Jacksonville has had the more explosive offense and opportunistic defense through five games. All of that mixed with Philadelphia’s injuries are why Jacksonville is now a -7 point favorite in London after opening at -4.5.
Let’s dive into the numbers and see if we can’t find an additional sweat or two.

Expert picks & predictions for Eagles vs Jaguars
Vaughn Dalzell (@VmoneySports) likes the Jaguars first quarter -2.5 and leans the full game -7:
“When capping this game Monday on NBC Sports, the spread was -4.5 and the conversation was centered around this line likely closing at -6.5 or -7. Two days later and we’re already there. If you want Jacksonville, you may not have until Sunday to play before this goes to -7.5. However, another angle is backing the Jaguars in the first quarter -2.5.
The Eagles are tied with the Browns for dead-last in the NFL with 0.8 first quarter points per game. Jacksonville ranks tied for 12th with 4.3 first quarter points per game. The Jaguars defense hasn’t allowed a single first quarter points this year, which I think can travel to London, especially given the injuries to Saquon Barkley and DeVonta Smith. The Jaguars were romped last year in London 35-7 to the Rams after splitting 2024 in London.
The Jaguars will be in London next week as well like 2024 when they lost the first game (35-16 vs Bears) and won the second (32-16 vs Patriots). I like the Jags early and late in this meeting with the Eagles. It’s hard seeing Philadelphia be able to go score for score with Jacksonville.”

Quarterback matchup for Eagles vs Jaguars
· Philadelphia: Jalen Hurts – During the Eagles two-game losing steak, he’s thrown for 153 and 93 yards and Philadelphia’s managed 248 and 172 total yards of offense. The Eagles have been outgained by 370 yards the last two weeks and it might not get better if Barkley, Smith, and Goedert’s injuries linger. Hurts’ 93 yards versus Los Angeles was a career-low with 20-plus pass attempts. The running game may not take much pressure off Hurts if Barkley is out. Tank Bigbsy and Will Shipley received a combined 20 carries for 78 yards in the loss to the Rams, but neither had a carry against the Bears the week before. If Smith and Goedert are out, then Hurts turns to rookie Makai Lemon and Dontayvion Wicks to step up despite neither cracking 35 yards in the last two games. Through four games, Hurts has the 31st-ranked clean pocket completion percentage (63.6%) and the 30th-ranked completion percentage when blitzed (54.3%). It’s been a rough start for Hurts and it’s not going to get any easier.
· Jacksonville: Trevor Lawrence – Last season, Lawrence started the season with a 3-1 record, 6:4 TD to INT ratio and 845 passing yards through four games — this season he’s 3-1 with 843 passing yards and a 8:2 TD to INT ratio. The former No. 1 overall pick has shown improvement this season likely to the year two bump in Coen’s system. Per PlayerProfiler, Lawrence has the No. 1 game script so far and he’s tossed a 77.1% catchable pass rate (6th). Lawrence is top 10 in true completion percentage (75.8%) and has the No. 4 passer rating versus zone versus No. 21 against man coverage so far. The Eagles run zone coverage 76.1% of the time, ranking 15th-most.
