Angel Reese is back in WNBA action as she already made history during the Atlanta Dream's clash against the Connecticut Sun on Thursday night.

Reese is going through the third season of her career in the league, her first with the Dream. She has achieved major improvements as she has Atlanta firm in the playoff picture, looking to make a serious title run.

Reese was coming off a strong journey in the 2026 FIBA Women's World Cup for Team USA. She helped them win gold in the tournament, leaving Germany as a world champion.

In 25 minutes of action, Reese picked up where she left off for the Dream. She finished with a stat line of 30 points, 10 rebounds, three assists, and two blocks. She shot 11-of-14 from the field, including 1-of-1 from beyond the arc, and 7-of-9 from the free-throw line. Her efforts saw her score 19 of those points in the first half, achieving a career high, per ESPN.

Angel Reese flourished in her first game back from national team duty in the World Cup. This resulted in the Dream cruising to a dominant 103-59 win over the Sun at home.

Five players scored in double-digits for Atlanta in the win, including Reese. Rhyne Howard struggled with shooting but finished with 10 points, eight assists, six rebounds, and four steals. Allisha Gray came next with 10 points and six rebounds, Madina Okot had 10 points and three rebounds, while Te-Hina Paopao provided 10 points and two rebounds.

Atlanta improved to a 27-14 record on the season, taking over first place in the Eastern Conference standings. They are above the Indiana Fever and the Washington Mystics at the moment.

The Dream will look forward to their next matchup, remaining at home. They host the Chicago Sky as tip-off commences on Sept. 19 at 7 p.m. ET.
