The NBA season is just over a month from kicking off, with the Boston Celtics and Detroit Pistons squaring off in the first game of the afternoon on October 20. The Inside the NBA crew is gearing up for its second season on ESPN this year after switching over following the NBA's move from Turner Sports.

Now, Golden State Warriors power forward and frequent Inside the NBA guest Draymond Green has weighed in on when he thinks show stalwarts Ernie Johnson and Charles Barkley will set down the microphone.

“I do not believe Ernie will be back after this year, I think he will call it quits… having an opportunity to work with Ernie on the set with those guys and I say this with all due respect, (Ernie) is the best point guard I've ever played with and that's no disrespect to the great Steph Curry… Ernie Johnson on a set is as incredible as they come.

“…his guy is amazing and so I tip my cap to him heading into his last year and I do think Chuck may be serious this time when you tie it to Ernie like that,” he said, per The Draymond Green Show on X, formerly Twitter.

Many fans incorrectly thought that the 2024-25 season was marking the end of the show, after the crew frequently showered themselves with praise and tributes during the 2025 All-Star break.

However, the show then went on to ESPN, carrying largely the same format as it did on TNT, with fan reaction growing mixed as time has gone on.

It remains to be seen whether Johnson and Barkley will make Green's prediction a reality.
