Coach Jeff Hafley's Miami Dolphins got their first win of the season against the New York Jets in Week 7 and are set to welcome the New England Patriots to Hard Rock Stadium in Week 8 action with “rising star” Sean Duggan leading the defense. Duggan's defense gave up 25 points to the Jets in a 28-25 win and are now set to take on star QB Drake Maye, who is predicted to light up his unit.

The Dolphins made a pair of defensive moves ahead of their big challenge, adding a former Bears defensive end while releasing one of their own, ESPN's Adam Schefter said.

“Dolphins claimed edge Jamree Kromah off waivers from Chicago and waived edge Rob Beal Jr.”

Kromah played college football at James Madison University and has played sparingly this season for coach Ben Johnson's Bears, recording two tackles. He played three seasons with Rutgers before transferring to play for the Dukes, where he dominated with 19.5 tackles for loss and 10 sacks in his fifth and final college football season.

At 6-foot-4, 268 pounds, Kromah has great size for the position and a history of playing in multiple spots along the front seven of a defense.

Beal Jr. was a 2023 first round pick out of the University of Georgia who hasn't contributed much to the Dolphins on the stat sheet this season, with just one tackle.

The Dolphins have had a rough season so far, but players including linebacker Josh Uche appear to be buying into the defense. The Patriots will test coach Hafley's team in new ways, and Kromah has the talent to make his way onto the field when it all goes down in Week 8.
