The Los Angeles Dodgers can't wait to finally see action in the 2026 MLB playoffs.
The reigning World Series champions are trying to keep it loose on Thursday by playing a simulated game at Dodger Stadium, while Game 3 of the National League Wild Card Round Series between the Philadelphia Phillies and Atlanta Braves play on the video board.
Here is a short clip showing Tyler Glasnow pitching against Max Muncy with the broadcast of the Phillies-Braves game playing in the background (h/t Bill Plunkett of the Orange County Register).
The Dodgers already have a good idea of who they will be facing in the NL Division Round, as the Braves are pummeling the Phillies at the time of this writing. Atlanta scored three runs in the first inning alone off a three-run home run from Michael Harris II off Phillies starter Aaron Nola.
The Dodgers earned a wild-card bye after finishing with the second-best record in the NL, going 100-62 to top the NL West Division once again. Only the Milwaukee Brewers had a better record than Los Angeles during the regular season.
The cast is nearly complete for the divisional rounds in both leagues, with the New York Yankees, Chicago White Sox and San Diego Padres all taking care of business in their respective wild-card matchups. It's down to the Phillies and the Braves to clinch the final ticket to the next round for a tough showdown against the Dodgers.
In any case, the Dodgers will play their first game of the playoffs on Saturday at Dodger Stadium.
