As the Los Angeles Dodgers prepare for Game 3 of the NLCS against the Milwaukee Brewers, the MLB playoffs are in full swing, with the series tied one game apiece in the ALCS between the Cleveland Guardians and the Tampa Bay Rays. With the Dodgers looking to bounce back after being a 0-2 series deficit against the Brewers, one outfielder on the team calls out a problem he has with the commercials airing during the games.

Though not on the active roster for the team during the postseason, Call is a Los Angeles outfielder and responded to a post calling out the networks and MLB for the commercials. The original post was by “Taylor Murphy” on X, formerly Twitter, calling out MLB for displaying such popular ads as famed actress Sydney Sweeney posing nude for Novig, a sports prediction market platform.

“Hey [MLB] – wanna get more kids watching baseball? Maybe start with the commercials. Watching the playoffs tonight with my kids, and here's the rundown: Megan Fox selling ED pills in a red bodysuit…The scariest movie trailer you've ever seen…Sydney Sweeney in zero clothes promoting betting on sports,” Murphy wrote on X.

“Leagues can't figure out why kids don't watch,” Murphy continued. “You don't need a Nickelodeon game. You're not the Savannah Bananas. Just show baseball in a way I can leave on in my house.”

Dodgers' Alex Call on the “soft porn ads”

This would lead to Call responding to that post in agreement, as the MLB wasn't the only one mentioned, with the 32-year-old outfielder calling for “soft porn ads” to be taken off the broadcasts, so that his son can watch the games.

“Can we please get the soft porn ads off playoff broadcasts, TBS, Fox, NBC, [MLB]?” Call asked on X. “My son wants to watch baseball with Dada, but how do I justify that when a half-naked woman could come on screen anytime?? This is America’s Pastime. Parents shouldn’t have to worry about this.”

At any rate, it remains to be seen if this will get addressed and the ads will be limited or removed.
